Wacom Contest, Up! and Thanks
EagerFirst off, thanks for everybody helping with the scholarship issue on my last journal. I really appreciate all the input, even if I didn't find any scholarships I could go for. I'll keep monitoring it all though, incase something does pop up.
I can't reply to everyone, but I've read every message. 
As for the Wacom Contest, the 50 semi-finalists were announced today. Unfortunately I didn't make it, but with all the other talent in there, I don't think I really deserved a place there anyway.
I'm proud of the piece I made though, contest or not.Finally, I'm seeing Up! tonight. It's the opening day and I'm really excited. I'll let you guys know what I thought of it.
This is my first PIXAR movie that I'm seeing in theatres, believe it or not.That's all for now. See ya!

What I'd suggest is that you try entering smaller contests and work on your technique. Improve your anatomy, coloring and just do your best to get better in general.
And FYI, here are some traditional mediums that got chosen.

[link] (done in PS, but could be easily done traditionally)
[link] (colored pencil)
[link] (photograph, colored pencil)
[link] (colored pencil and marker)
There were two that were picked that were colored pencil. One was pen and ink, one which was a photograph and colored pencil, and then two more which were done digital but could be done traditionally in the same style.
