I never log in because I'm always logged on so I have no idea... maybe dA is experimenting with something on the log in page??

Ohhh... yes. It was happening to me a few months back, and it was so annoying.
It started off weirdly, as it was telling me to log in, even though I hadn't signed out to begin with.
I entered my details, pressed the login button, and then it looked as though the page refreshed, but I wasn't logged in. I changed my password, and that didn't help. It only worked once I deleted my cookies, but that was only temporary, and the next day I'd have to do it all over again. It was affecting some other sites as well, such as LJ.
The problem lasted about a week or two here on dA, but then it just went away as quick as it came.

If what Idai said above is true, then I won't since it fixes itself. However if it persists longer than it did for him, then I'll submit a Help Desk report.

Ahh, thanks for letting me know. It sounds just like my issue, except this is the only site where it is happening that I know of. (I don't use LJ etc)

It's good to hear that it seems to fix itself. Hopefully it does just that. If not, I'll submit a Help Desk report.

Makes sense.
But I'd still submit a report, so they can stop if happening to anyone in the future.
That or at least check the forums to see if it's a problem that they're aware of.
