Artist's Comments

Made with ToonBoom Learner's Edition, hence the "DIGITAL" watermark.

I was contemplating whether or not this should go in my main gallery or my scraps, but I decided I should post an animation in my main gallery for once. This will probably end up in my scraps sooner or later like my others though. =P

Just random emotion/head rotation practice with my character, Temiree. There's no reason for the emotions he's portraying, in case you're wondering. It started with a head rotation, then I decided to add a few random emotions in no order. =P

Critique and advice is welcomed, especially since I'm new to animation. (this is my fifth animation I think)

That's pretty cool dude. You've got a basic and simple test going on. It's pretty awesome in my opinion, gets me excited what you're going to come up next.

If you are trying to exaggerate emotions, the head should be moving more. For example, when he blinks or 'commences' the smile, it's a good idea to make the whole head react to this activity. You don't have to redraw his whole head for a new frame, you could simply just move it so it looks more alive than artificial.

The use of easing in and out is a good idea too. I mean, when he moves his head or pulls off an emotion, it could either start off fast or slow, then end vise versa. I know it's a simple head rotation, but when his head turns or reacts to something, the keyframes are a bit constant. This is to detract that robotic and emotionless feel.

I also noticed that in your first keyframe, the snout is actually longer than the snout in the last frame. Keeping proportion is always something I fail at, but it's also a good idea to check that up too.

But other than that, its still a job well done

Nice bit of frame-by-frame there! :) It all looks rather good!
Too bad about that watermark getting in the way, really. I guess you can't help that.
