Now Up the Stairs, Like a Thunderbolt!

So, Halloween doesn't seem to be canon in Redwall, and I made some Google searches to make double sure of this, so I present to you my little head-canon (that I genuinely hope actually isn't in the books somehow, haha, that would be embarassing).

I like to imagine a day once a year where all the dibbuns (and some adults, if they wish) get to dress up in costumes that they've been working on for the days prior, perhaps to help practice technical skills like sewing. They get to run around all day playing in the costumes they brought to life, winning praise and having fun. Then, after a big feast in the late afternoon, fifteen or so adults run off and dress up like certain historical figures pertaining to Redwall Abbey's history. They hide out in and around the abbey and wait for the dibbuns to find them using clues and knowledge of their own. If they get found, the kids get rewarded with candy while the adults continue to act in-character. For the few kids that find all of them, they get a bigger prize rewarding them for their knowledge and problem-solving abilities!

Here we have Tem dressed up as the Taggerung, hiding away in the cellars where he was put after being knocked out and captured. While it didn't happen until after he was let out, the shaft of Vallug's arrow is stuck to his chest. If anyone questions him about, Tem/Taggerung would explain the sequence events leading up to how he got it.

I'm quite happy with how this one turned out, and how I've applied the digital markers I've been using to the background, and my normal cel-shading to the characters. I really like how it looks. I'll probably do more stuff like this. Enjoy, and Happy Halloween!
