Evil Redwall Badger (August 2012)

Here is the 2nd character of the series, a badger! I wanted to make him look strong and menacing, and very tall, as badgers tend to be depicted in the books.

Random Art Tip of the Day: To make a tall character look tall without having anything else in the drawing with them, you should crop the picture more closely around them like I did here. I have less breathing room around his head and feet than usual, and brought them close to the edge of the canvas to make it seem like he was barely fitting into the frame. The opposite also works for making characters look smaller.

This was part of a character lineup I was planning to do last year that I never finished fully. It was supposed to have the species of Redwall swapped, so that all the good species were evil, and all the evil species were now good guys. It was intended to be made with the benefit of practicing character design. I'm probably going to do this again (and hopefully finish it to completion) once I learn some more about designing characters.
